What if we had one day of telling people how we really felt about them with no repercussions whatsoever (unless they were good)? Would you seize the opportunity to truly speak your thoughts?

A Very Interesting Thought…
Hello to all of my followers, both old and new. This is my first text post in a while, I won’t bore you with a lengthy introduction on where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing (although I think you could put the pieces together) so I thought I’d be a bit more concise:
So, today I partook in a discussion involving social “bubbles” on my colleges campus and ultimately a hypothetical way to end the social division that exists on the campus itself. During the discourse it was stated that some students don’t act like themselves in order to “fit in” or simply an innate fear of being judged by their peers. While I think this is incredibly veritable to a certain degree I can’t help but dissent and make the distinction that social division is with us no matter where we go. It’s at our jobs, with our friends, colleagues, and peers. People choose to associate themselves with others because they are joined together through common interests (whether they are constructive or destructive is kind of irrelevant). Unfortunately, as a result cliques form and those involved do not branch out because they have entered their “comfort zone”. Furthermore, this tends to affect one’s sociability towards those they do not know.
As a nerd, I think the idea of being socially outcasted for one reason or another has become slightly cliched and overdone. I have had countless socially-awkward moments but I don’t let it get to me too much because it’s part of our nature to make mistakes. While it may be our desire to be liked by everyone, it simply cannot happen. The only thing we can do is strive to be the best people WE can be and live our lives free from judgment of others while remaining cordial and polite with everyone.
Lastly, I think the most important step to making a change is to start with you. “Be the change you wish to see in the world” as Ghandi once said. Express yourself.
MY ADVICE TO EVERYONE: Be yourself, unapologetically…
